HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
Weigel Counseling Associates, Inc. was started in 1993 by John Weigel, Licensed Psychologist and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. As his practice grew, he invited local clinicians to join the practice, as well as new office locations to assist and serve the growing needs of Lancaster County. The practice maintains close, professional relationships with Roseville Pediatrics and Rothsville Family Practice. Our associates are committed to our mission by providing professional, yet "down to earth" clinical approaches to best serve our consumers, maintaining high quality helping relationships through individual, family, couples and group counseling, evaluations, public speaking and other special services.

Appointment Information
Outpatient services are provided by appointment, except in emergency situations. A typical session appointment lasts from 45 to 50 minutes, although there may be a variance of duration depending upon the type of service provided, such as valuations and testing procedures which tend to last more than an hour.
Scheduling
Appointments can be scheduled by calling John Weigel at (717) 464-1450, Option 1.
We ask that you leave the following information:
-
Name and age of the client
-
Type of service being requested (Individual therapy, evaluation, play therapy, marital counseling, etc.),
-
Preferred office location
-
Participating insurance of the client
-
Contact information, including a best time to contact you
-
If you prefer or have a particular clinician in mind you can leave that information or contact them directly.
A provider will contact the client or caller directly to set up the appointment.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
Your reserved appointment time is set exclusively for you. It is of utmost importance to be on time for your appointment, so the very best and comprehensive service can be provided for you. In the event that you are unable to attend your scheduled session, we ask that you provide 24 hours notice so that the clinician may be able to offer the time to another client. The 24-hour answering system is provided for your convenience in these matters. In times when the appropriate time allowance has not been made, you may be billed for half of the scheduled session fee. When appointments are missed without notification, you may be billed the fee for the entire session, at the discretion of the clinician.

Fees and Insurances
The fees for our services are established based on an hourly or per session rate. A typical therapy session lasts 45-50 minutes, however evaluations, testing and some special services may take an hour or more. Other services that may encounter additional fees are consultations and the preparation of letters or reports. Every effort is made to keep the financial cost of our services affordable, and according to local feedback our fees have remained below that of many of the other area providers. Please contact us for more information or for fees for specific services.
Many health insurance plans are accepted. Please be aware that not all of the clinicians with Weigel Counseling Associates may participate with your particular insurer depending upon their rules and regulations. It is important to know the terms of your policy related to copays, deductibles, authorizations and claim submissions, and it is encouraged that you familiarize yourself with your policy and any special conditions that may apply.
Please contact John Weigel or Office Manager Laurie Cosgrove with questions about your coverage. We will do our best to help you clarify your benefits and limits.
